At N. Brown Electrical, we're delighted to share that we've successfully completed another NICEIC Approved Contractor assessment.
For many businesses, an annual assessment is simply another date in the diary. For us, it's an opportunity to demonstrate that the standards we set ourselves every day continue to meet the high expectations of the NICEIC and, more importantly, our customers.
From One Van to a Growing Local Business
When I started N. Brown Electrical in 2016, it was simply me, a van and a determination to build a business that people could trust.
There wasn't a grand business plan or ambitions of becoming the biggest electrical contractor in Belfast. The goal was much simpler – provide honest advice, carry out high-quality workmanship and always treat customers' homes and businesses with respect.
Like many small businesses, there were challenges along the way. Every customer recommendation, every completed project and every positive review helped build the reputation we've worked hard to earn.
Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come.
Achieving NICEIC Accreditation
In 2019, we reached one of the biggest milestones in our journey by becoming an NICEIC Approved Contractor.
For anyone outside the electrical industry, NICEIC approval isn't something that's simply awarded. It involves rigorous assessments of our technical competence, the quality of our installations, our testing procedures, certification, compliance with the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), insurance and business processes.
It was a proud moment then, and it still is today.
Another Successful NICEIC Assessment
Fast forward to today, and we've once again successfully passed our annual NICEIC assessment.
While we're proud of this achievement, we see it as confirmation that we're continuing to do what we've always aimed to do—maintain high standards on every job, whether it's a simple socket replacement or a complete electrical installation.
Our customers place a huge amount of trust in us, and independent assessments like this help reinforce that confidence.
Investing in Local People
Perhaps the achievement I'm proudest of isn't the certificate itself.
Since starting the business in 2016, we've grown into a team of four, with three members of staff who all come from our local community.
Supporting and developing young electricians has always been something I believe in. By investing in local talent, we're not only strengthening our business but also contributing to the local economy and helping develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople in Northern Ireland.
Watching the team grow in confidence, knowledge and ability has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
Continuous Improvement Never Stops
Electrical standards continue to evolve, and so do we.
We regularly invest in:
